Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice use US measuring (dry) cup
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • ¼ cup minced yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in the microwave for about 15 to 20 seconds.
  2. Rinse rice in a mesh strainer. Make sure to shake out excess water well.
  3. Add rice, butter, onion, garlic, turmeric, bay leaf and salt in the pot and mix well.
  4. Add chicken stock and stir ingredients together.
  5. Set rice cooker to cook or start (depending on the cooker functions).
  6. When done, fluff with a fork and serve.
